For the zine project I have many very different ideas. I was thinking about making a Zine that visually encapsulates what mental illnesses feel like. There would be a different concept on each page; eyes all around someone representing social anxiety, being stuck in bed with depression, and something to do with body image issues. I think this could be a powerful zine that also goes along with a lot of work I've done in the past. I was also thinking I could make a sci-fi comic that tells a story of emotion. While I haven’t decided, I have thought of the concept of a skeleton girl who is in love with a normal boy. While they have the time he spends in the cemetery , because of her skeleton-ness, they don’t work. This could show love, sadness, anger, and other emotions, but I am unsure of which I want to portray in this Zine. I will use facial expressions and internal expressions in the skeleton to tell the story in order to use minimal words, and I think it would be cool if the day portions were in black and white as it is not a part of our main character’s story. Another idea I had is to use money to mimic worldly concepts by drawing on the bills. Things like a 100 being a rich woman or the 5 being someone getting mcdonald’s or something of that sort. I drew up a few ideas for the first zine concept because I was really into the idea, and I think I will probably end up going that route.
