About the Artist:

Who Am I? I am a 21 year old Psychology and Art Practices major with the hopes of working with kids. I have been practicing art in many different mediums for as long as I can remember. Through exploring all forms like sculpting, filming musical or theatrical layouts, painting, drawing, and even writing, I find that I convey themes best through painting and writing. I have always been interested in and worked with the themes of mental health and illnesses a lot. I am greatly inspired by the music I listen to, one being the band in my background. I have always loved fashion and aspired to work with clothes in my art, and I hope to continue to do so in the future. I have taken multiple art classes at CU and in high school. In high school, I was into photography, and I love working that into my works. I love repurposing photographs or trinkets I find at thrift stores and making it into something new by painting or gluing something onto it. I have always had an artistic passion and pull to the arts; as a child I would work for hours on my “projects.” I have combined this love of art with my love of working with kids by teaching at an art camp, and I aspire to be the arts and crafts counselor at my day camp job. These interests, mental health, working with kids, and art have pointed me in the direction of art therapy in child development.
